Sadly enough, I think that if things were better Sue Dansie would still be involved volleyball in more than just an "emeritus" role.

With the dramas my club has had this year, it's become pretty predictable going in to games whether we'd win or not.

Even finals have been predictable too. In the women's it's more or less the same 2 or 3 clubs that keep winning, In the men's Norwood won it last year which was great, Lofty won it once a few years ago, and south pulled one off a couple of yrs ago too. But besides that it's pretty much always Lion.

We're not even getting Grand Final replays anymore. Just grand final re-runs.

I look forward to State League every weekend.
We have no idea if we are going to win or loose in our division.

I would like to see more players who play in the competition have the manners to support the finals and the teams in the finals.
Could you imagine the atmosphere?
Not just watch your club and then go shopping when they are finished.
Support the league and watch the league finals.

Sue Dansie (wise old sage) said, "If a competition is good enough for you to play in, then it is bloody well good enough for you to see who wins."

Sorry sarcasms hard to bring across in text :-)

Home and a way pride creates a great atmosphere for people to enjoy. Enjoyment seems to be lacking at the moment for many reasons.

Also I miss the famous Bacon and Egg sandwiches Mt Lofty put on - that should be reason enough I think :-)

I think what helps is the the "home and away" way of playing. It's designed for you to spend the whole day in another place and enjoy yourself there - there's a bar, BBQs nice food etc. The people hosting take pride in where they are as a welcoming place for people to visit and play sport with them.

You don't really get a whole lot of that at State League. You get a bit of it though when Mt Lofty hosts anything.

People claiming that it's further to go from brighton to heathfield than it is to go the other way are simply not thinking in the best interests of the game.

And to remind them when they complain about south-of-the-city teams playing against each other up and Mt Lofty, well Mt Lofty teams have been playing each other at Marion for years!

Country Life sure is sweeter :-)

No one tries to convince you it's further from Brighton to Heathfield than it is from Heathfield to Brighton. Does that mean Whyalla is closer?
